URDGURDG 758 PASSED BY ICC BANKING COMMISSION Near-Unanimous Vote Paves Way for New Rules in 2010 Brussels, Belgium 24 Nov 2009 All countries, save one, that were present at today's ICC Commission on Banking Technique and Practice meeting voted in favor of the final draft of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758). With Germany choosing to abstain from voting, the final tally means that 96% voted for the rules. URDG 758 will be implemented on 1 July 2010. Following this formal approval of URDG 758, the Institute of International Banking Law & Practice (www.iiblp.org) announces it will be conducting a series of seminars comparing these new rules to the International Standby Practices (ISP98).
